Leave Your Comfort Zone

It’s very difficult. In fact, nobody wants to get out of it. But, you can’t get what you want until you forget your comfort zone. Make a list of things that make you uncomfortable and the barriers that are restricting you from taking the required action. Always see the positive side. Ask yourself questions like what will help you move forward, what skills you need to build, etc. Remember, in the business world, personal growth is important, and it can help you achieve your targets easily.

Stop Multi-Tasking

As a business person, you want everything done in your own way, thus may spend a lot of time on little things. But, by doing so, you are missing the most important tasks on which you should focus more. Prefer doing one thing at a time. Why so? Because it will help you get it done quickly and correctly. Be present at work, and with your staff. Stay focused on your work, and don’t let the focus float on other tasks. For instance, don’t check emails when you are in a meeting. If you do, it means you aren’t working during the meeting.

Make a Habit of Saying Thank You

It really helps. Remember, your employees are building blocks of your company, and you should thank them for the efforts they are making. Well, I have developed a special system. Each day, I put six packets of chips on my desk. I give each to a colleague when delivering positive feedback. At the end of the day, all the packets are distributed. Within a couple of weeks, I saw great improvement in my behavior. And, after that, I found the packets gone by afternoon, sometimes before the first tea break.


Additionally, you can take out them for parties, trips or give salary hikes to motivate them. However, you can design your own ways to say thank you to your employees.

Get a Dog in Your Office

There’s scientific evidence that spending time with a dog can help you promote mental as well as physical wellness. Having a canine companion at work will definitely help your employees get off stress, boost focus, and improve productivity. Stick to a Routine

To keep focused, setting a routine and sticking to it is important. However, you can follow different routines at different places. For instance, when at home, my routine is to wake up early in the morning, go out for a walk with my wife, and spend as much time as I can with my son before he leaves for the school. After office hours, I play table tennis with my colleagues for 1-2 hours. It takes off the day-long stress and refreshes me. In the beginning, sticking to the routine may be difficult. But, once you start seeing the results, you will love it.
